The planet Jupiter is entering the constellation Libra on 23rd Sep 2017. Thula lagnathinul Guru pravesam - in Tamil. This is just another astronomical event that keeps happening in perfect periodicity. This has nothing to do with Pushkar visiting the Kaveri river after 144 years and cleansing even the Ganga which is already polluted by the sins of people who had a dip in her.

Here is the story (myth) from Hindu mythology:

Varuna bhagwan (rain in plain speak) was the maternal uncle of Pushkar (water). Pushkar received rights to all the water resources in the world from Shiva but preferred to stay in the kamandalam (jug) of Brahma. When Guru (planet Jupiter) asked for Pushkar (note there is no evidence of water in Jupiter), Brahma settled the matter by allowing Pushkar to abide in the 12 rivers of our country for the first 12 days of every month one river at a time when Guru moves into the respective Rashi (constellation). When Guru moves into Thula (Libra), the river where Pushkar will abide is Kaveri. This Kaveri (Ka Viri - the expanse that came into being when a crow (Ka) spilled the water carried in another kamandalam by Agasthya Muni) has greater power to cleanse the sins of other rivers including the Ganga. This is the reason why all gods, rishis, rivers and mortals (human beings) wait for the Maha Pushkar season that happens only once every 144 years to cleanse themselves of all sins - one's own as well as their ancestors and forefathers! This is believed to happen at Mayavaram / Mayuram (Mayiladuthurai) in Tamil Nadu, (South India) where the Kaveri flows through.

Don't we see to what extent the vain imagination of man is taking him to?

Instead, take a moment to consider what God says in His word (the Bible).

Jesus, the Son of God, the express image of God and the brightness of His glory, came down into this world to bear the sins of every man. He died on the cross shedding his precious holy blood as price to purchase forgiveness of our sins. He cleanses us from every sin and curse through His word - the living water that not only cleanses but also quenches the thirst of the soul. He gives this living water to everyone that comes to Him asking. (Read Luke chapter 4 in the Bible).

A pilgrimage to Kaveri or Kasi is not what God wants from us. A simple faith in His word is all that is required to deliver us from the penalty of our sins. He says, "Come unto me, all you that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household shall be saved.
