Chapter 041
Cain in His-story
Section I
Eve delivered her first son Cain and said that he was from the Lord – but God says that he was of that wicked one (Satan) – 1 John 3:12. (Cain - Kaayi in Thamizh - not ripe - sour, immature). Satan did not want to be destroyed too soon by the Seed of the woman. He was aware of his handicap of not knowing the entire plan and the eternal purpose of God for mankind. He was afraid. He thought he was proactively putting a premature end to the purpose of God by corrupting Adam’s seed. But God is all-knowing and is all-powerful and more than capable to accomplish what He had purposed even before the foundation of the world. He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world – Eph 1:4.
Eve became the first mother (Mather, Matha, Ma, Amma) and Adam the first father (Pattar, Pitha, Pa, Appa, Abba). Adam became the “paraman” to the seventh generation from him, which term was usurped by the crypto-Jews and later deformed to the current term “Brahmin” or “Brahman”.
Cain would have thought that the way of Salvation by faith through God’s Son was just a hoax and that God was a dictator who only wanted unquestioned obedience from His creation. The slaying of an innocent animal to shed its innocent blood that God demonstrated to Adam should have passed on to his sons but took no root in Cain. Unlike Abel, he disregarded the promise and continued in his own way. His work was evil.
Both Cain and Abel brought an offering to the Lord. Cain brought the fruit of the ground. Abel brought the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. Cain’s offering was the unrighteous kind as it did not reflect his faith in God’s plan of salvation through the shedding of innocent blood. Nor did he bring his best; what he brought was fruit from the cursed ground. Abel believed that God would accomplish His purpose through the shedding of His own blood in His Son as promised to Eve and Adam. So, he brought an animal and the best. The LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart. – 1 Sam 16:7.
When Cain saw that God approved Abel and his offering that reflected his faith in God and His plan of salvation, he was filled with wrath – primarily towards God and most probably towards his brother too. He fell into a depression that showed on his face. By faith, Abel offered God a greater sacrifice than Cain, and through his faith, he was commended as righteous, because God commended him for his offerings. And through his faith, he still speaks, though he is dead. - Heb 11:4.
Cain continued to be angry and depressed. So, the Lord spoke to Cain and told him why his sacrifice was not accepted, and why his brother’s was. Cain was corrupt, and the offering of the ungodly and the wicked was (and is still) an abomination to Him. He gave Cain an opportunity to repent and turn around from his ungodly attitude. The Lord stated that He would accept him if he chose to do good going forward; Cain could still remain the dominant one. The Lord also warned him of the consequences of an unrepentant heart. If he continued to do evil, then sin would pursue him everywhere – both inside the house and outside; it would lie at his door.
Cain seemed to have refused to speak to the Lord. Did he even give an ear to what the Lord said to him? Not likely. Faith comes by hearing.
Cain, being the seed of Satan, would not believe God’s word, even though He spoke to him personally. And, Cain would not stand anybody who seemed to have been favored above him. He became a brutal animal that would kill anything – not just for prey. The natural but now-corrupted animal kingdom around him should have shown him what brutishness is. He corrupted himself with this basic killer instinct in him to subdue his would-be competitor to take the upper hand.
Again, the wicked Serpent Satan, through his seed Cain, the first son of perdition, might have considered Abel as the Seed of the woman and so, ventured into committing the first cold-blooded (serpents are cold-blooded reptiles!) murder that is recorded in human history. Satan showed his cunning and deceptive nature through Cain. Evidence? Cain seemed to show a cordial relationship with Abel, spoke to him, took his brother Abel with him to the field, and there, slaughtered him.
But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them! For they have gone in the way of Cain – Jude 1:10, 11
Cain was arrogant when he answered God – most probably an outcome of an evil attitude that he had developed all along – a result of the prejudice that he had about God. He didn’t realize that he was speaking to the Creator who is the “awesome” God Who creates and sustains everything; He is also the righteous Judge Who would condemn anybody that broke His laws and transgressed His commandments through unbelief.
When Cain spoke post the curse, he seems to have spoken for the entire tribe that would procreate from him. And the earth has been yielding far less than its capacity ever since it swallowed the innocent blood of Abel.
It is highly probable that the Garden of Eden was located in a region where there was just one big landmass that God called land after all the water was gathered up as the ocean. The supercontinent included a prominent region what was then called Pangea, Lemuria, or the Kumarikandam. Geologists put forth a theory (fact!) that all continents of today might have had land connectivity with each other. Adam’s bridge and “Seth”u Samuthiram are real and natural geographical structures in the Indian Ocean. Adam Paadam located in Srilanka is considered another evidence of this possibility.
Kanyakumari is the goddess who has a temple at the very tip of the landmass that now exists after the landmass was drowned and destroyed by the deluge that God sent; It obliterated the idolatrous population that had perverted the worship of God and introduced lasciviousness as a lifestyle.
The thriving Thamizh society had a religious system of worshiping their ancestors – the very thing that the first man wanted (to be God). Adam was the first man to be worshipped as God (Easwaran). He is said to have mastered the art of communicating with spirit beings through Kundalini Yoga (Aadhi Yogi). He is also said to be the convener of the first Thamizh Changam where the letters, words, grammar, structure, and framework of this first language were drawn. He was also worshipped as Ekchuah by the Mayans of South America but with a localized attire and weapon. Murugan and Vishnu are other examples of ancestors worshipped in idol form. (Read about this elsewhere in ABHOT).
Cain was building a city (to fortify himself?). He didn’t trust God when God guaranteed that no man would slay him. He continued in his unbelief and passed on this trait to his offspring. So, Satan might have thought he still had a chance to foil God’s purpose and plan down the line.
Who was Cain’s wife? Adam and Eve begat more sons and daughters after Cain and Abel. And they, in turn, should have borne more children. One of Adam’s daughters could have become Cain’s wife as there was no law that condemned such relationships as incest until later. Marriage between a brother and a sister (though not the sibling) is still in practice in some cultures. For instance, Abraham had married Sarah, his sister. (Brahmin wives address their husbands as “anna” – brother! Nairs address them as “Yettan” imitating the Aryans. Thamizhar address them as Maama).
Just when Satan thought his mission was accomplished, Seth was born to Adam and Eve. And Seth was a God-fearing offspring who believed in the promise of God.
Even after the fall of man, the Lord God had been showing Himself and communicating with mankind at various times in various circumstances. Christ, the eternal Son of God, since His first engagement with the first couple, appeared to a lot more people later, revealing Himself under various names that reflected His attributes. (But He possessed a unique name that none could claim or own. See more of this elsewhere in ABHOT). Bible scholars are correct in calling such appearances “Christophanies”.
