The God-pleasing life of Enoch should have influenced the lifestyle of Noah, the great-grandson of Enoch. This is why Noah is in His-story. It was during the time of Lamech, Noah’s father that Enoch disappeared.

God was grieved by the ungodly atmosphere that existed in the time of Noah. He felt sorry that He created man! Not that He didn’t foresee these but to see the actual unfolding of this wickedness among mankind was too much for a holy God. Another such situation was when He saw His son hanging on the cross late in His-story, bearing the sin of the world and He had to turn His face away from the Sin-Bearer, though for a moment.

It was during Noah’s time that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. – Gen 6:2 who bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. – Gen 6:4. Giants. The Hebrew term used is Nephilim.

The “sons of God” mentioned here are most probably the fallen angels, that were thrown down by Satan because they believed him and were thoroughly deceived. They were once part of the heavenly host that shouted for joy when God laid the foundation of the earth. Once they chose to rebel against God, their perverse minds forced them to act against their nature. Jude writes about them later in the Bible, “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation,” – Jude 1:6. They left their own habitation (spiritual bodies inside which their spirits lived) and entered into another physical body that enabled them to forcefully spawn the beautiful women of the earth with their seed and pollute their fetuses. Satan, their leader, thought that this in turn would possibly thwart the plan of God of bringing forth the Seed of the woman to destroy the Serpent. Mutations occurred, and abnormal and gigantic beings were born.

The presence of giants and mighty men then – and even afterward (as mentioned in Gen 6:4) – should have made it possible for them to build structures like the Ellora caves in the Maharashtra region of India, the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the stone-men in Easter Island, the Stonehenge in England and some of the Inca and Mayan pyramids which are beyond the capability of modern men and equipment. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bore children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. – Gen 6:4. Even their physical structures were so huge that two of their tombs (Qabeel and Habeel – Cain and Abel?) as big as twenty feet each are being maintained by the family of Dr Abdul Kalam (Former President of India) at Rameswaram.

Dr. Kabilan (in a Vendhar TV documentary about the Big temple in Thanjavur, South India) proposes a theory that even during the 10th Century AD, at the time of the building of this Big Temple, giants as tall as thirty feet might have been engaged in the construction work. Otherwise, it would have been an impossible task for ordinary men of our size to transport huge granite blocks from afar off, arrange them in a structured manner as interlocking blocks and build the structure with the colossal capstone. Also of interest are the Nazca lines of Peru and the Sun temple at Konark.

Ultimately, God hath (these fallen) angels reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day – Jude 1:6.

As in the days of Noah, today there is an explosion and a rampant propagation of this Serpent’s seed among the human population (resulting in undetected mutations giving rise to physically and mentally affected individuals) that it is becoming extremely difficult to identify people who are pure-bred human individuals. (Luk 17:26, 27).

While we don’t see any twenty- or thirty-foot-tall individuals around, we certainly see giants that do exploits even in their almost-normal physique. Britain’s Got Talent, America’s Got Talent, and other native talent shows are evidence of this. And there are a lot who do exploits mentally (modern intellectuals and geniuses), financially (Forbes top n hundreds), and spiritually (Wizards, witches, magicians, and those who practice the occult).

And there are people who have had (arguably) close encounters with aliens. (Note “Close Encounters of the third kind” by Steven Spielberg, “Krish” by Rakesh Roshan, and “Ezhaum arivu” by Murugadoss).
Many have been spawned by Satan’s seed such that they strive to attain god-consciousness through transcendental meditation and Yoga. They are exploring the so-called “Christ” in them and are becoming gods themselves – this is achieved by allowing the spirits from the unseen world to take control of them. There are innumerable spiritual gurus today who have spread to the nook and corner of the earth with this demonic philosophy teaching gullible people of balancing the Ying with the Yang or the male energy with the female. (There is speculation that the Ying Yang philosophy of the far east is actually of Thamizh origin. The Sitthars taught their shishyas the necessity of balancing the enjoyment of pleasures of the earth (ingu) with the anticipated pleasures of the heavenly world (angu).

Vaastu Sastra (the so-called science of balancing the energies in a home or any building structure) is practiced by most and utmost care is taken even at the planning phase of a civil structure – whether for residential purposes or for commercial purposes. Even the high-tech IT industry (supposed to be at the zenith of science) believes in Vaastu and every Software tech park / IT enterprise has a flowing water structure at its entrance or at the reception area. The Vaastu fish is exhibited at a prominent place for people to see (which is said to drain down / swallow all the negative energy in the environment and sometimes dies as a substitute for a member of the family).

The people of the days of Noah were much more ungodly than those of Enoch. They were filling the earth with wickedness. And the heart of man was continually devising evil. And God was watching. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. – Gen 6:5.

This is not unlike the world of today. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, while here on earth a little more than two thousand years ago, told His disciples that during the end-times of this earth, a similar environment will exist as it was in the days of Noah. And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. - Luke 17:26, 27.

In fact, the volume and the gravity of wickedness have only increased manifold to such extreme levels that people are ignoring (not ignorant of!) the proverbial “elephant in the room”. The education system, the entertainment world, and the traditional as well as the now-hyperactive (and hyperreactive) social media are flooded with such wickedness that it is very difficult to escape from its clutches and stronghold. We can’t overlook rape, pornography, murder, adultery, lasciviousness, divorce and re-marriage-at-will and such filth on one side and consumerism, gluttony, drunkenness, drug abuse (some like to call themselves party animals proudly! Shame!) and wasteful spending on the other side – all trying to satisfy the physical appetites of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, and they were given in marriage. – Luk 17: 26. Man has fallen to such ignoble levels that he has started behaving much inferior to the average animal – his basic instincts are dominating, and he willingly compromises his civilized behavior. No wonder, man has swallowed the evolution theory that states humans evolved from animals. The irony is, they are in reverse gear now and at a very high acceleration that will straight-a-way take them to the bottomless pit of immorality and uncultured behavior soon enough.

“Mission Accomplished”, Satan thought. He supposed that he had put an end to God’s plan by filling the earth with wickedness in its every nook and corner. Now, he would escape his fate. Now he would breathe comfortably. Now he would stay safe. At last! The impending danger has been averted. Averted?

No. Noe Ah! Noah. God had His man in the believing line. He was the only righteous man found in his generation who believed in the promise of God. He should have learned about this promise from his father Lamech who had many real-life stories to tell of his forefathers and especially of his own grandfather Enoch who disappeared from the scene one day and never returned. There should have been a great commotion about Enoch’s whereabouts and Lamech could have been a part of the search-party.

While Enoch had to wait until he was sixty-five to beget Methuselah, his eldest son, Noah, Enoch’s great-grandson had to wait five centuries to beget his son Shem. What made him wait so long? Was it that it took him a long time to find a wife that was relatively far removed (sanctified and undefiled) from the completely degenerated society that he was living among? Possible.

According to (http://www.history-perspective.com/bible_timeline_2.html) a reliable timeline, Noah’s father Lamech lived at least sixty-five years before Adam died physically. So, he, an eyewitness to Adam should have passed on the gospel message and the promise of God to Noah.

A just man in his generation, Noah was chosen by God because of his faith in His promise. Eventually, God instructed him to build a huge ark so that he, along with his relatively unpolluted family, could be saved amidst God’s judgment. God would send a deluge to destroy the whole earth.

Unprecedented! There was not even the phenomenon of rain in the time of Noah. There was the dew that sustained vegetation and the rivers that quenched the thirst of man. Remember, man was still a gatherer and had not developed the art of agriculture and farming until after the Flood. However, Noah knew that any instruction from God has to be complied with. He had to obey the One Who has to be feared – He is the awesome God that is pleased in righteousness but is sure to punish evil. When the Lord said He was sending a global (not local) flood, He was sending it. Period.

Noah and his sons started building the ark probably amidst the mockery of their actions by the surrounding population that had degenerated morally. Perhaps he preached and warned them of the flood. Perhaps he didn’t. But his righteous life, his continuous endeavor and his focus on the job at hand should have spoken volumes and louder too – louder than he could have managed to shout at the top of his voice. His sons helping him in the huge task he had taken up showed to the world that even they believed in the God that Noah believed. He was also taking his wife and his daughters-in-law along on the journey of faith. (Did he hire workmen that helped in the building of the ark who rendered their services merely to earn their livelihood (and devour the innocent sheep!) as do the many so-called servants (Iyyar?) of God today?) He condemned the unbelieving world through his life of faith. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. – Heb 11:7.

And, the flood arrived. All the fountains of the great deep broken up and the windows of heaven were opened. – Gen 7:11. The ark started rising due to the waters of the flood and kept moving. Calamity was all around. It was raining for forty days and forty nights. The entire water canopy that God put around the earth disintegrated and fell with a thud. The fountains of the deep also burst open to unleash water everywhere. The land submerged completely. There was a sudden drop in temperature due to the cataclysmic fall of water from above. The wisemen of the earth got their “ice age” idea from this event. God removes the mountains, and they know not: God overturns them in His anger. God shakes the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. – Job 9:5, 6.

And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: - Gen 7:21-23. All flora and fauna got buried under water and land instantly. This is the very reason for organic fuels Coal, natural gas, and Petroleum forming under the ground.

In the end, only the eight of Noah’s family along with the animals, birds, and reptiles that God sent into the ark (along with most fish and other aquatic animals) survived. Almost all dinosaurs and mammoths were wiped out. While everything else was being destroyed by water, here were Noah and his family saved by water! “– 1 Pet 3:20.

Thank God Noah believed, here we are! The old world came to an end and the new one emerged! And (God) spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; - 2 Pet 2:5.

Men lived for centuries during antediluvian times. One – Methuselah – even lived 969 years. All because the environment was so favorable with the best air, water, and weather for life to thrive on this planet. The pressure was just right for man, animals, and plants to grow taller and stronger than they are today. They could breathe in oxygen-rich air that contained nearly zero pollutants. The water canopy above the atmosphere provided them with the right temperature for life to flourish while also preventing microbes from growing and spreading quickly. Reptiles (they grow throughout their lifetime) and even birds lived long enough to become dinosaurs that lived alongside human beings. Cave paintings, stone carvings, rock inscriptions, and coin-etchings of dinosaurs everywhere around the globe testify to this fact. The ultraviolet rays from the sun were efficiently filtered by the water canopy; there was little or no possibility for DNA mutation to occur. Did men get to consume curd, yogurt, or wine that requires bacteria and the right temperature to curdle/ferment? Doubtful!

Adam lived 930 years but died the very day he disobeyed God – lost his life in his spirit which was much more dreadful than physical death. He also started dying in his body – his tissues started to weaken and die.

Death began its iron rule on all life. Death reigned. Also, mankind’s general span of life was drastically reduced to around 120 years post the flood – 1/8th of the oldest man on earth. Yes, there were some exceptions to this general rule, but God should have had some valid reasons for these exceptions.

Some scientists suggest that a massive meteor of frozen ice hit the earth resulting in the world freezing and ushering in the ice age. While the former guess is a possibility, the ice-age part of their opinion is wrong ab initio as the earth thrived with life before this global flood catastrophe which happened recently – a few thousand years ago, not millions of years ago.

Some of the land animals and aquatic animals froze to death. (Recollect the fossils of mammoths in Siberia that got frozen while they were still standing, eating, or giving birth. And the fish fossils on the Himalayas?) Meanwhile, new geographical structures were taking shape underground. The Grand Canyon of Arizona should have formed during these days! New mountains emerged while the existing ones were plunging. The Lord was shaking the earth. The axis of the earth tilted due to the alteration of the angular momentum caused by the mass of the earth being re-distributed unevenly. This would further lead to uneven lengths of days and nights on the planet leading to seasons occurring periodically throughout the year. There was a marked shift in the geographic north and south poles as well as a drastic alteration in the magnetic south and north poles of the earth.

There are nearly two hundred stories of the flood (termed myths as they don’t contain the whole truth but just hints about it) all over the world.

Noah was the first person to travel on a huge floating vessel. Today we call them ships. Navai is Thamizh for a ship. It is from this root word we get the English words Navy, navigation, and the Hindi word Nav. Navalantheevu (the island of the shipbuilder) was the original supercontinent that existed before the flood. Noah’s ark landed on the Ararat mountains. Water started draining and the mountain tops surfaced. It took longer for the dry land to show up. This is why there is an adage about Thamizhar being the ancient ones proving that Thamizh is the first and the only classical language that is alive and flourishing: Kal thondri man thondraa kaalaththey, (vaalodu) mun thondri mootha kudi. Geological research at Keezhadi contributes to this fact.

When the Serpent thought he had thwarted the plan of God concerning His Son and His supreme creation Man on the planet, God brought His man Noah on board. Onboard! God commended this hero of faith in the promise of God. The promised Son of God. The promised Seed of the woman.

The Devil tightened his vigil now. Would one of the sons of Noah be the line in which the Seed of the woman would be born? In that case, Satan thought it better to proactively put his acts together and turn the emerging entire mankind against the Creator. He needed a man to unite them all.

Noah was a righteous man. He feared God. He was not a drunkard as some suppose. The wine that he drank fermented due to the drastic change in the atmosphere; the rising of the normal temperature aided the microbes to produce alcohol. Noah, unaware of this, drank it and fell into an inebriated condition. Ham probably insulted Noah (exposing the father’s nakedness is lying with the mother, to show one’s dominance?) resulting in a curse on his descendants. The mutant sinful dormant gene became active in Ham.

Nimrod, Ham’s grandson was the man.
