Daniel’s dream – Dan 9:24-27

Seventy weeks (“Seventy sevens” in the original Hebrew) are determined upon thy people (Jews) and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem)
• to finish the transgression (He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions – Heb 9:15) and
• to make an end of sins (Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the whole world – John 1:29) and
• to make reconciliation for iniquity (that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people – Heb 2:17) and
• to bring in everlasting righteousness (grace reigned through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord – Rom 5:21) and
• to seal up the vision and prophecy (But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled – Acts 3:18) and
• to anoint the most Holy (by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place – Heb 9:12).
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince (Christ) shall be seven weeks (seven sevens), and threescore and two weeks (sixty-two sevens): the street (of earthly Jerusalem) shall be built again, and the wall (of earthly Jerusalem), even in troublous times.

And after threescore and two weeks (sixty-two sevens) (that follow the first seven weeks (seven sevens) (From 457 BC to 27 AD is 483 years ignoring the 0 AD year. In fact, this AD and BC nomenclature was wrongly calculated by Dionysius Exiguus (525 AD). The birth of Jesus has been calculated correctly to 4 BC later on. So, Jesus entered into public ministry in 27 AD). The seventieth week started in 27 AD) shall
• Messiah (Christ) be cut off (Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree – Gal 3:13), but not for himself (For He (God) hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin – 2 Cor 5:21):
• and the people of the prince that shall come (believers of the NT period who belong to the Prince of Peace, Jesus) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary (make void the earthly city of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple in it because the Church will be built as the heavenly City New Jerusalem and the Temple of the Holy Ghost);
• and the end thereof (of the seventy weeks) shall be with a flood (of believers flowing into the Church of Jerusalem in thousands), and unto the end of the war (between the Dragon and the believers in Christ) Rev 12:17 (and until the Church of Philadelphia AD 1948)
• desolations (of the adversaries of God, Satan inclusive) are determined (purposed and planned by God as per His-story).
• And He (Christ, the Messiah) shall confirm the covenant (ratify a covenant through sacrifice in 30 AD/ 31 AD - Gather my saints together unto Me; those that have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice – Ps 50:5; This cup is the new testament/ covenant in my blood – 1 Cor 11:25; Heb 8:8; Luke 22:20; Mark 14:24; Matt 26:28)
• with many (old testament Jewish believers (and subsequently new testament believers)) for one week (seven) beginning from His ministry after thirty years of age until the gentiles were added to the Church by the time of conversion of Saul (the exclusive apostle to the gentiles / non-Jews) in AD 33 /AD 36 (according to Dionysius) and Cornelius’s (the first gentile / non-Jewish convert) household in AD 34 / AD 37 (according to Dionysius). This will be the end of the seventy weeks (of the Jews) and the ushering in of the ‘time of the gentiles’. This will go on till the ‘time of the end’ starts (1948). This is until the end of the Church of Philadelphia period. The lukewarm, wretched and miserable and poor and blind, and naked Laodicean Church period starts in 1948.

• and in the midst (during the middle) of the (seventieth) week (seven) – three and a half years after His public appearance and earthly ministry (in 27 AD / 31 AD according to Dionysius)
• He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease (But this man (Jesus), after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God – Heb 10:12), (Thamizh Bible mentions this 'He' as Christ)
• and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate (KJV); On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys (Thamizh Bible). Satan will cause abomination; if “And the abomination of desolation will be on a wing of the temple” as per the HCS Bible is considered, it is the Al Aqsa mosque which is situated on a wing (not in the middle, as many assume) of the actual Jewish Temple’s location in Jerusalem –Ellis Scolfield). Subsequently, God will make the agent of abomination and the Jewish temple desolate. (Refer Eze 25:30).
• even until the consummation and that determined shall be poured (Satan will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone – Rev 20:15 at the consummation of God’s His-storical purpose and plan)
• upon the desolate (upon whom the desolation is poured: Satan, the unholy angels, the beast, the false prophet, those who have taken the mark of the beast and the unbelieving sinners – Rev 19:20; Rev 20:10, 14, 15).

Here is an interesting side note: When Peter the disciple of Jesus approached Jesus with a question, "How many times should I forgive my brother? Seven times?", Jesus replied, "Forgive your brother (a Jew) seventy times seven". This 490 - the exact number of years the Jews were graciously given by God for repenting from their sins and turning to the promised Messiah. They forfeited this when they rejected the Messiah when He came to their own. That is when Paul said, "I am hereafter going to the Gentiles" to preach the gospel of salvation.

Satan would have read this detailed prophecy which also contains his final destiny. And, this was from God Himself – the Almighty Who has all the power to perform what He has foretold. It was sending shivers down the nerves of the devil. The old serpent would put all his tricks together to nullify the purpose of God. Would he succeed in rooting out the Seed?
