Chapter 122
More Deceptions in His-story: Media
Section III

Today’s media is owned by barons who determine what the public should see, hear and think about. They shape the mind of the young and the old – even babies. The advent of Web 3.0 has brought about information explosion (Dan 12:4) resulting in easily producing and rapidly publishing all kinds of information. The technology boom has led to a “knowledge explosion” that can be accessed through any device of the users’ choice.

• Social media is ruling the roost with posts like opinions, writeups, weblogs (blogs, vlogs), pictures and videos flooding the minds of users. Facebook and WhatsApp each have nearly one billion users – apart from Instagram and Twitter each having nearly a hundred million and three hundred million of their own respectively. This social media has become an agent of sexual immorality and has murdered millions with its content. YouTube contains more evil, dirty and unverified stuff that might misguide people of all ages. The dark web is a haven for antisocial elements that exploit technology to unravel destruction and disaster.

• Books for building human personality, religion and social behaviour are spewed out in millions that contain content on morality and civilized behaviour required for building successful careers (Robin Sharma?) but most of them throw God out of the window. Some books targeted at children (Harry Potter?) also prime them for a life of occult, magic and witchcraft.

• TV shows bind people to the “idiot box” the content of which encourages divorce, polygamy, adultery, whoredom, homosexuality, wantonness, rage, murder and suicide and teaches arts of deception, consumption of drugs, smoking and drinking, corruption and every kind of anti-social behaviour – even easy and painless ways to commit suicide.

• Films introduce various dimensions of occult and evil in the name of fiction and creativity and present all vices as normal human behaviour. The current generation’s attitude and mindset are determined by these films. Flashing of warnings about the evils of smoking and drinking are contradictory to the actual depiction of them as high-class, luxurious and trendy.

• With a deluge of overwhelming information, the young people of today are totally confused – not knowing what is right and what is wrong, what is reliable and what is fake news, and what is true and what is falsehood. Believing parents shy off their responsibility of guiding their children to Jesus Christ who is the Truth against whom everything else must be compared to determine the trustworthiness of any information. They switch on all colours of a traffic light signal at the same time!
