• There will be a great deception. Many false Christs will come in the name of Jesus and say, “I am the Christ”, and will deceive many. There shall also arise false prophets; they shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall seduce and deceive even the very elect (with their “theology” and “eschatology”?). We see this happening today everywhere – men calling themselves spiritual gurus, god-men, avatars, and even Christ, announcing their arrival (and existence) through heavy media campaigns. They depict themselves as problem-solvers / solution experts and manipulate the minds of millions through their discourses and literature. Some even pull out talismans and holy ashes from thin air and stun their devotees and religious fans with magic and tricks. There are even the so-called 'Christian' evangelists, pastors, prophets, and teachers many of whom are supposed to possess the gift of prophecy, and healing, to do exploits, spokespersons of God, and middlemen to intercede for people (some, even after their death) – mostly stage-managed to draw the masses away from the Lord to themselves through their technology-based prophecies and “lectures”.

• People will hear of wars and rumours of wars. Don’t be troubled as the end is not yet. Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. There is seldom a news program that does not mention destruction caused by political and communal wars among nations. Wars and uprisings that put people against each other in the name of religion, religious sect, political party, language, race and caste are increasing rapidly.

• There will be famines, pestilences, troubles and earthquakes in diverse places. There are more under-developed nations than the developed and so-called developing nations put together. Not only food but even potable water is becoming scarce across the globe. There are millions who struggle to earn or eat one meal a day. Hunger deaths in thousands (Ninety-nine thousand per day in 2019) go unreported by the media, which today, is in the grip of the giants who keep executing (!) their hidden agenda. Outburst of new diseases (Covid-19?) that gulp thousands rapidly have become more frequent lately. Terrorism is on the increase and mass-murderers are sheltered in the neighbourhood by their supporters at the cost of the innocent public. Forest fires are on the increase and even a highly developed nation like the USA is struggling unsuccessfully to bring such calamities under control. And Amazon is burning! There is an earthquake reported somewhere in the world almost every day. Tsunamis and unseasonal floods due to El Nino, destroying property and life are reported more often these days. These are the beginning of sorrows.

• Believers will be afflicted, delivered to councils and they will be beaten in synagogues (places of worship). They will be hated of all for Christ’s sake; they shall be brought before rulers and kings for Christ’s sake for a testimony against them. Christians are persecuted everywhere in the world for their testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. We hear of believers being put in prison, tortured mercilessly and even beheaded, shot down, and killed otherwise for their faith. They are banned from entering many countries and are not permitted to share their faith even among their family and friends. Christians are not allowed to gather together to fellowship and share their testimony. Christ, God, and the Bible are kept out of schools and educational institutions, and all who profess their faith are dismissed from their employment or tortured so much that they cannot survive the persecution and so, are forced to leave. There is no religious freedom in many countries and even secular countries like India are denying rights to Christians to practice and propagate their religion. They are falsely accused of carrying out forced religious conversion through monetary enticement. Authorities slap false cases against believing Christians and they are drawn to courts before judges who eventually pass prejudiced verdicts, teaming up with their prosecutors. Believers are taken into religious places of worship, beaten severely, and they are forced to withdraw their statement of faith or renounce their faith verbally. Some are even forced to wear the sacred ash on their foreheads or repeat the statement of faith of their religion as a mark of allegiance. Even those who had accepted Christ and the Christian way of life are forced (many times under the threat of death) to relinquish their new faith in the name of “homecoming”. Many such believers and servants of God have lost their lives for their faith all along His-story.

• There shall be offence, betrayal and hatred against each other. People are offended when a Christian stands for his faith in His Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is ridiculed and threatened if he voices His faith, that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Yesterday’s friends and loved ones turn betrayers, and hand the believers over to authorities, or turn approvers and back-stabbers when caught together in the act of sharing their faith. Relatives of genuine believers become their enemies accusing them of being over-religious, self-righteous and super-holy.

• Because of the abounding of inequity, the love of many shall wax cold.

Corruption is the new normal. Bribing is no longer a vice. It happens in governments as well as in common people.

Rape, child abuse and murder are prevalent everywhere – even inside the so-called churches, temples and other places of worship. People under the robe (white, brown, saffron or black) of religion commit crimes and get away with it with the help of socially influential followers and peers. Infidelity and sexual immorality are found not only in the lower rungs of society but among Presidents and Prime Ministers of countries, leading sportspersons, actors, singers, musicians, and other entertainers, media barons, the rich and the socially powerful individuals who usually set a trend in the society for the world to follow.

Pornography is no more a secret offence – it is available at the click of a button and most of it is free. “Porn” is no more an immoral term – it is prefixed and suffixed with even very innocent words like “Food”.

Drug trade and its abuse are rising rapidly while underworld cartels call the shots in many genuine businesses today due to secret links.

Elections in democratic countries are no more conducted justly and the one with the money power gets to occupy the seat of power.

Individual rights are curbed; personal data is no more confidential.

Technology is aiding the spread of this inequity through social media that can reach literally any pocket through smartphones and other devices.

The value of goods is manipulated by corrupt practitioners in the share markets. The “Futures” market determines the price of every commodity – essential or luxury and tends to hold control of global finances.

Food is no more easily affordable and safe as the control of this has moved from the producer (farmer) to the dealer and seller cartels.

Medicines are no more preventive and curative but are becoming the staple food of the already exploited sick who were originally brought to this state by the sedentary, carefree and lethargic lifestyle that the society has been forced to adopt. While not every doctor is to blame, medicine meant for curing illness are not the ones that are prescribed by money-minded physicians anymore. Pharma companies pay them enough to help them make billions from the medicines they formulate and manufacture on a large scale. These prescription medicines keep patients dependent throughout their lifetime while sucking their money out to fill the coffers of pharma company owners.

Vaccine development for Covid-19 has become the latest money-spinner for the pharma industry. And there is no guarantee that the vaccine will save you from the virus. 60% effectiveness means four out of every ten persons that receive the shots of vaccine (given in two doses one month apart - what happens during the month, no one knows) would still be affected by the virus. That means there is a greater probability that one or two persons in your household of four can still catch the virus even after vaccination. Talk about the effectiveness of this vaccine!

The neighbourhood is safe no more as it has been infiltrated by anti-social elements, criminals, terrorists, and terror perpetrators.

Followers, fans, and admirers of openly immoral people care little about others and launch out on their own to fulfil their own lusts, even at the cost of the lives of their loved ones; it matters little to them as long as their physical appetites are satisfied. They would even dare to kill parents, siblings, spouses and children (babies too) to achieve their selfish goals.

This know also, that in the last days, perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves (selfish), covetous (money minded), boasters (of achievements, accomplishments and success), proud (of their caste, social status, wealth, education), blasphemers (of God, the Son of God, His word and His people), disobedient to parents, unthankful (for the favours received), unholy (in thought, word, and deed), without natural affection (for the spouse, parents, and children), truce-breakers (in life, in marriage, in business, in government), false accusers (of innocent people), incontinent (of the marriage relationship or a well-established business), fierce (short tempered, angry, wrathful leading to even murder), despisers of those that are good (to read, to fellowship with, to relate to) traitors (who turn hostile for selfish reasons), heady (because of their degrees, money power, position, and authority), high-minded (“who are you to tell me?” attitude), lovers of pleasures (sensual, entertainment, luxury, gourmet food) more than lovers of God (His word, His church and His purpose); Having a form of godliness (praying, bible reading, church attendance, tithing, contributing to missionary work), but denying the power (of leading a sanctified life filled with the Sprit, exhibiting His fruit and exercising His gifts and living a life in anticipation of the coming their Lord) thereof: – 2 Tim 3:1-5.

And the last days are NOW!

• The gospel of the kingdom will first be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations. The Bible is the most translated book in the world and is still the best-seller worldwide. The gospel is reaching every nook and corner of the world through Cable TV and Radio. Even aborigines (Adivasi) and tribal groups in the remotest areas are being reached with the gospel by dedicated and committed missionaries. Again, the gospel is not just preached, it is being preached as a witness - disciples of Christ are living the gospel among their fellowmen with zeal even risking their lives.

And then shall come the end!

• The abomination of desolation (spoken by Daniel) will stand in the holy place (it should not have been there!). Whoever reads this, let him understand! At the time of Daniel, the Holy Place was the Jewish temple in Jerusalem. This was desecrated by an Islamic Khalif and was converted to a place of worship for the Muslims between AD 686-AD 688. This triggered a massacre and continues to annihilate the Jews to date.

(Interestingly, here is a calculation by Ellis Scolfield: 688+1260 = 1948; 1260 is 42 months of 30 days of the Jewish (lunar) calendar and 1948 is when Israel became an independent nation; 688+1278.38 = 1967; 1278.38 is 42 months of 30.438 days of the solar calendar and 1967 is when Israel took control of Jerusalem after the six-day war; 688-1260; 688AD being the year when the Al Aqsa mosque was built on the wing of the Jewish temple).

• Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take away his stuff or anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return to take his garment. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: Remember Lot's wife! Whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life shall preserve it!

• For then, in those days, shall be great tribulation and affliction, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened by the Lord, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom He has chosen, those days shall be shortened. The pain meted out to Christians today in many communist and Islamic countries is unprecedented. Most of these don’t show up in the popular media due to obvious reasons. (The global media is controlled by people who are anti-Christian and would never publicise anything that is in support of the believing Christians).

• Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; behold, he is in the desert; behold, he is in the secret chambers; don’t believe the message as well as the messenger. Go not after them, nor follow them and believe it not. There are the so-called prophets and pastors who seem to have had a face-to-face encounter with Jesus Christ. Some even boast of meeting Him every morning (and a few claim to have breakfast with Him, the Lord preferring to have a home-cooked breakfast instead of one ordered from outside!) and speak to Him (sometimes at the swimming pool in the backyard of their home). Naïve people become their followers and financially support their “ministry”.

• For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. All those who are dead in their trespasses and sins are carcases and a person who received life in Christ (tasted His life) but chooses to crucify Him again by turning to his sinful ways is twice dead (Jude 1:12). Deceiving and eagle-eyed false prophets will encompass such vulnerable people and devour these “dead” unbelievers and backsliders. If they had life (of Christ) in them, they would not be dead and can’t be a target of flesh-hungry deceivers. When attacked, true believers would be alert to shoo away and stand against even the first attacking “eagle”.
