The Lord Jesus Christ challenged the Prince of this World and his worldly system, “I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”, before He left this earth. He has been building this Masterpiece ever since with the “called out ones”, the believers.

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that, he must be loosed a little season. – Rev 20:1-3. Satan who was bound in the bottomless pit (hell) – (Paadhaalam in Thamizh) – has been powerless to jailbreak its gate and emerge to stall the building of this Church. What God has determined will come to pass. He is the Almighty. Is anything too difficult for Him?

It is His house, the Church of the Living God, the pillar and ground of truth. He started identifying the stones for the foundation of this building even while He was here. He is the foundation of the Temple of God among whom God dwells – God does not dwell in temples made of hands, and never did! His ministers are His co-workers (according to Paul, the twelfth apostle) – For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. According to the grace of God, which is given unto me, as a wise master-builder, I have laid the foundation (which is Christ), and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon – 1 Cor 3:9-11.

While He is the Stone that the builders rejected – He is also the Living Stone and the Chief Corner Stone that sits at the apex of the pyramid, the head of the corner. (New Jerusalem is described as a four-square pyramidal structure with equal length, breadth, and height).

The believing generation has come unto Christ, a Living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a Chief Corner Stone, Elect, Precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the Stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the Head of the corner, and a Stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. – 1Pet 2:3-8. This is the Stone, which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. – Acts 4:11. And, the Jews, stumbled at that stumbling-stone. – Rom 9:33.
