I saw, I came, I conquered, I AM coming
A short (auto)biography of the Lord Jesus Christ
Chapter 21
Vini - I came
To My Disciples
• Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.
• My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work.
• The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
• We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.
• As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
• Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
• You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.
• If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honour him.
• Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
• Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
• Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the One who sent me.
• Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
• Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
• Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and glorify Him at once. (during the last supper)
• A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
• If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
• I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father.
• Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
• Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Believe in God; believe also in me.
• In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
• I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
• I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. The Helper / Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, Who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me. It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for He will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that He will take what is mine and declare it to you.
• Because I live, you also will live.
• In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. (the day of my resurrection)
• The Father is greater than I.
• The ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me.
• I am the true vine, you are the branches, and my Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. Abide in my love. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it to you.
• Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
• These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
• If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. They hated me without a cause. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.
• I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.
• The hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.
• I will see you again
• In that day (post my resurrection) you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
• I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.
• In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
• Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you. Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.
• Children, do you have any fish? Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.
