How did Hindi as a language originate?

Missionaries came in to spread Roman Catholicism in India during the British period. However, a few Christians also came in with a genuine burden to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Hindi became a bridging language between a lot of the north Indian languages by the 19th Century AD. Hindi is a hybrid language that emerged that connected various local languages and dialects to enable the government to communicate with the large common populace spread across India.
