For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. All those who are dead in their trespasses and sins are carcases and a person who received life in Christ (tasted His life) but chooses to crucify Him again by turning to his sinful ways is twice dead (Jude 1:12).

Deceiving and eagle-eyed false prophets will encompass such vulnerable people and devour these “dead” unbelievers and backsliders. If they had life (of Christ) in them, they would not be dead and can’t be a target of the flesh-hungry deceivers. When attacked, true believers would be alert to shoo away and stand against even the first attacking “eagle”.
