Bible was written with the intent that man might know God, His love and His plan of salvation in the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ. Knowing Him would bring man eternal life instead of man going to a Godless doom in the lake of fire as a result of sin.

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name. – John 20:31. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. – 1John 5:13.
