“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” – Gen 1:1

This is where history begins. This is where His story begins. His-story begins in the eternity-past. Even before Time.

But why was God so obsessed with the earth? Why has the earth been His focus even before it came into existence? Why would the Earth contain all essentials like atmosphere with the right mix of gases and water in liquid state, that would support life unlike any other planet in the solar system?

(1) All because the Son of God would be born here and that too, as a man. As God. He is the centre of God’s purpose around Whom everything came into being. He is the “scarlet thread” that runs through God’s plan.
“Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world” – 1 Pet 1:20. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. – Rev 1:8. Jesus is the beginning of the plan of God and is the One who will be its end as well. He set the ball rolling and he will blow the final whistle!

(2) Also because His adversary, Satan would be crushed to defeat here.
The purpose the Son of God was manifest was to destroy the works of the evil-one. – 1 John 3:8.
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; - Heb 2:14.
(3) And because His sons would be born and live with Him forever here.

“He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world” – Eph 1:4. “God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth”. – 2 Thes 2:14. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory. – Heb 2:10pp.
