The Sin offering had to be ceremonially cleansed according to the law of Moses. Jesus, as the sin offering for the entire mankind, had to fulfil the law. Jesus said unto him, “Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness”. – Matt 3: 15. The baptism was also a preparation of the Son of Man for His ministry.
