The word “Antichrist” appears in only four places and appear in two epistles written by Apostle John.
(1) Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. - 1John 2:18.
(2) Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. - 1John 2:22.
(3) And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. - 1John 4:3.
(4) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. - 2John 1:7.
Incidentally, it is this same John who wrote the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, later in life when he was exiled to the island of Patmos. The word Antichrist is mentioned nowhere in Revelation but the bible-interpreters of today have dragged this “special personality” into the book. Would the Lord wish to confuse His believers by concealing “antichrist” in Revelation?

The believers in Christ (His Church) had been hearing that the Antichrist was coming (as do the believers today). John says that they heard it wrong. Antichrist is not an end-time personality. (Anthikiristhu in Thamizh, is not the Christ of the last days, the name has been transliterated). Antichrists are those who are against (anti) Christ and His people.
• “Antichrists” is plural. So, there were, are, and will be many antichrists.
• Antichrists were present even around 100AD, right when John lived and when “the elect lady and her children” lived.
• Antichrists will deny that Jesus is the Christ, i.e., His divinity. While all unbelievers do this, the Jews have been denying that Jesus is the Christ ever since He was here among them bodily.
• Antichrists will deny the Father and the Son. Not only the Jews still deny the Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ but there are also nearly 2 billion people belonging to a certain religion in the world who boldly profess “God cannot have a son”.
• Antichrists will not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. They will deny that Christ is the Son of Man – a title that talks loudly about His humanity. They will deny His humanity too. Many antichristian historians have sprung up who are attempting to pull out the historical facts about Jesus from the textbooks in schools, colleges and universities changing the BC and AD notations to BCE and CE, thus trying to play down (and ultimately remove) the His-story of Jesus from secular history.
