Seven vials of the wrath of God

John heard a great voice out of the temple instructing the seven angels, his human servants, to pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. They were given power while on earth to spit fire on the unbelievers to devour them, stop rain by shutting heaven, turn water to blood and smite the earth with all plagues at will as per Chapter Eleven. Here in Chapter Sixteen are final destructive measures God sends to destroy the earth. This annihilation will happen immediately after the believers are ‘caught up’ because God will save them from this ‘wrath’. He will shorten the hour of temptation for the sake of ‘the Elect’. He will do a ‘short-work’. The hour might not run its full course.

This chapter must be interpreted literally because the Lord Jesus mentioned this as literal in the gospels when He spoke about the stars falling from heaven. This would be the last day. How long this last day would last, none knows. However, it might be as long as the first few days of this earth. (There was no sun or moon then and it was not a twenty-four-hour day. The twenty-four hours for a day came into being after the fourth day of creation).

Apostle Peter mentions this in his epistle when he talks about the ‘great winding up’; “the heavens shall pass away”; “the elements shall melt with fervent heat”; “the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up”. Paul says, “in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ”, in one of his epistles.

It is possible that all the seven vials are poured out simultaneously. Or, it might be at quick succession. This is ‘the great winding up’ that God has intended to end the world with. This must be immediately after the seventh trumpet or even when it is being blown. The global flood came the very day Noah and his family entered the ark. Fire and brimstone came down the very day Lot and his family were pulled out of Sodom. Jesus said that the end of this world will be like the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Believers will be caught up while destruction will be unleashed down here. Do not look for Nephilim, UFOs and aliens as anticipated by today’s preachers. The evil spirits are already here and are doing evil exploits through men. And Satan is very much active now!

The first angel will pour out the contents of the first vial on the earth (landmass). People who had submitted themselves to the Antichrists and bowed to them will be tortured with a foul, loathsome and grievous sore. Job was tortured by Satan with such a sore. God will pay back. A biological weapon would be unleashed among mankind. Smallpox is a foretaste of this judgement.

The second angel will pour the contents of the second vial on the sea. The salt water of the sea will become as the blood of a dead man. Will it be a global oil-spill that will clot the waters? Every living creature in the sea will die. It will produce a global stink due to putrefaction of all life in the sea. Air will become unbreathable by this pollution. Oil spills of the past are a foretaste of this judgement.

The third angel will pour the contents of the third vial upon the rivers and fountains of water. They will become blood. The water will be so contaminated that it would become unpotable. There will be no water to drink. The angel of the waters said, “Thou art righteous, O Lord, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy”. God will be paying them back with the same coin. This happened once in Egypt during the time of Moses. The drinking-water crisis that is emerging across the world is a foretaste of this judgement.

It will be the time of God’s revenge over those who troubled His saints. Paul mentions this in his second letter to the Thessalonians. Another angel out of the altar agreed with the first as to God being true and His judgments being righteous. He was witness to the souls of the Saints that were slain who were shouting from under the altar for revenge over the evil powers.

The fourth angel will pour the contents of the fourth vial upon the sun. Temperature will rise sharply. Men will be scorched with great heat. Sadly, they will blaspheme the name of God but will not repent to give Him glory. They will blame God for the torture though they were the real cause for it. Self-inflicted. global warming and sudden rise in temperature across the globe resulting in heatwave deaths is a foretaste of this judgement. Can we forget El Nino?

The fifth angel poured the contents of the fifth vial upon the seat of the beast. The seat of the beast is the USA. Israel is manoeuvring it and holds control. The USA would have already become a dark kingdom when this “Mystery, Babylon” is destroyed economically and militarily in an hour. The people of his dark kingdom gnawed their tongues for pain. Despite the realization that God is judging them, men blasphemed the God of heaven but did not repent of their evil deeds to give Him glory. Plagues, pestilences and deadly viral diseases are a foretaste of this judgement.

The sixth angel poured the contents of the sixth vial upon the great river Euphrates. The water of the river dried up. This would prepare way for the kings of the east that would bring two hundred thousand thousand army men (two hundred million). It is a very huge number and army men could be the evil spirits mobilised by Satan and his allies. It was after the time of the sixth trumpet that the four angels that were bound here were loosened to allow this happen. India and China would be among the kings of the east. They might lead from the front to confront the onslaught of God on mankind.

This is also the time when the angel sounded the sixth trumpet, and the second woe was declared. The angel also let loose the four angels who rush and roll over (Euphrates) to kill one third of mankind. This is in chapter nine.

Three unclean spirits of devils like frogs come out of the mouths of the dragon, the beast and the false prophet. Abominable statements of blasphemy against God and His saints are issued by world celebrities that Satan possesses (POTUS? VeeP? Pope? Putin? Jinping? Jong Un? NaMo? Bebe? Naft?), the antichrists (Jews, Hindu Brahmins and Muslims) and the USA. These statements are unleashing evil spirits. These spirits are working miracles to deceive the world.

[Satan has already mobilized the whole world against God’s people to deter them from evangelizing the unreached and edifying the Chosen. The Antichristian agents are working overtime to put an end to the building of the Church of God. But this will go on till a God-determined time on this planet – its last day. Our God reigns Supreme!]

Satan would gather the kings of the earth (Gog and Magog) and the whole world to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Satan would try his best to annul God’s final assault over the cursed earth.
This antichristian population is spread everywhere across the globe. Preparation for and the waging of this war against God’s power would be underway at various vulnerable points everywhere around the world. Armageddon would be the final warfront, though it need not be single geographical location. “It will be remembered that this is apocalypse. Har-Magedon may stand for the battlefield without indicating any particular locality. The attempt of certain scholars to connect the name with "the mount of congregation" in Isa 14:13 (Hommel, Genkel, etc.), and with Babylonian mythology, cannot be pronounced successful” - W. Ewing, ISBE.

The seventh angel will pour the contents of the seventh vial into the air – earth’s atmosphere. There were voices, thunders, lightnings and a great earthquake. A great hail fell out of heaven upon men. It would be a global meteor shower of unheard sizes. Every stone would be about 45 to 90 kilogram / 100 to 200 pounds. The plague caused by the hail was exceedingly great. The falling of warheads carried by missiles launched by military could also look like hail falling out of heaven upon men. Such missiles are targeted towards places of human occupation, not on uninhabited areas. The ‘United’ States will be divided (!) into three parts. The cities of the nations will fall. Every island will flee away, and the mountains will not be found. All mankind would have died by then. The Chelyabinsk meteor that fell in Russia in 2013 and the missile attack on the Hamas occupied Gaza strip by the Israel military in May 2021 are foretastes of this judgement.

The events that happen here are mentioned earlier in chapter six. The opening of the sixth seal coincides with this seventh angel pouring the contents of his vial into the earth’s atmosphere. It is also the time when the sixth trumpet and the seventh trumpet that immediately follows this sixth are blown that will announce the second and the third woes on the inhabitants of the earth. These are mentioned in chapter nine and eleven. This is also mentioned by Peter in his second epistle.

When the seventh angel poured out his vial, a great voice came out of the temple of heaven proclaiming, “It is done“. This coterminates with chapter twenty-two when the Lord proclaims, “It is done”. It is also the time when the seventh seal was broken and there was silence in heaven for half an hour. This is mentioned at the beginning of chapter ten. By this time the sixth and seventh trumpet would have blown. The sons of God would have gathered in His presence to be with Him forever. Subsequently, it would also be the time for the wicked unbelieving to be raised up bodily, judged and cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.
